Scientists believe adding several tablespoons of tomato paste to the daily diet can protect the skin against harmful ultraviolet rays
According to a recent study, tomato paste not only can prevent the
skin from premature aging but also from skin cancer
Scientists claim cooked
tomatoes contain higher levels of lycopene compared to raw ones, which
contribute to the above mentioned protective effects
Findings showed
individuals who had tomato paste in their regular diets are 33
percent less prone to sunburn injuries
The study also revealed higher
levels of procollagen, the molecule which gives the skin its structure and keeps
its firm, in such individuals
Previous studies had reported the protective
effect of lycopene in reducing prostate cancer risk
